Transatlantic

The Whirlwind (2009)

Transatlantic - The Whirlwind (2009)
THE WHIRLWIND is a 77-minute piece of music that is sure to satisfy the band's legions of fans that have patiently waited almost the entire decade for the reunion of these 4 prolific musicians.

"Powerful progrock at it's best with MANY reward marks along the way.
I think we give the fans what they want but would NEVER trade in our integrity and that's a tough balancing act.
Maybe less obviously uber prog this time, we may be a bit more subtle and delicate this time as we're 10 years older, we've grown up and don't need to show the audience that we can write good or complicated music, we just trust the power that is.
Looking at it now it seems like the piece "The Whirlwind" couln't have been any other way .....so I guess it is part of that flux too.
The only difference I can see personally is that we worked with this one even more as a 4 piece, where every member got to put in his ideas and his songs and lyrics in a delicious prog rock salsa that brim of fun and inventive playing.
A true collaboration so it feels more like a real band and less like a project this time"

Roine Stolt - 2009.
